饮食诱导的肥胖模型（Diet-induced obsisity，DIO）是通过高热量和高脂肪饮食诱导形成。使用C57BL/6小鼠，从5周龄起连续饲喂高脂肪含量饲料（D12492），建立DIO模型。机体的过度肥胖可导致脂肪及肝脏等组织的胰岛素受体敏感性下降，从而产生胰岛素抵抗等糖尿病症状。饮食诱导的小鼠肥胖模型可模拟人类肥胖过程中出现的一系列症状，如体重增加、血糖升高，葡萄糖耐受量降低等，是研究肥胖症、2型糖尿病（diabetes mellitus type 2，T2DM）及其并发症的重要模型。
