使用基因编缉技术删除Alms1基因外显子，建立Alms1基因敲除小鼠模型。ALMS1基因突变常导致CORD兼发Alstrom综合征。Alstrom综合征又称肥胖-视网膜变性-糖尿病综合征，表现出视网膜色素变性、视神经萎缩、神经性耳聋、2型糖尿病（diabetes mellitus type 2，T2DM）、胰岛素抵抗、肥胖。高脂饮食诱导作用下还可加速小鼠的代谢病理进程，诱发肝脏炎症及纤维化。可用于肥胖、糖尿病、非酒精性脂肪肝病（NASH）等研究。
