使用基因编缉技术在Trp53基因exons两侧分别插入loxP位点，与组织特异性Cre鼠交配可获得在特定细胞类型或组织中Trp53基因敲除小鼠模型。由于抑癌基因Trp53缺失，细胞失去了对细胞生长、凋亡和DNA 修复的调控，容易诱发细胞引起癌变。该小鼠可用以研究各类肿瘤的发生、发展，及肿瘤相关药物的筛选。
